How Do Safe Locks Work?
A safe lock is a unique high-security lock created primarily on safes and coordinated with boltwork. Due to their high-security capabilities, safe locks are frequently employed as the primary locking system on other safe storage devices, such as vault doors, ATMs, and security containers.
Safe lock types
First, electronic safe locks
Electronic safe locks, also known as digital safe locks, come in various varieties, each with unique capabilities. A set of simple electronic safe locks is an excellent option for home security measures.
Second, Integrated safe locks
Every safe featured in the media has a lock similar to this one. Combination locks have different sets of wheels; they come in 3-wheel and 4-wheel varieties; the number of wheels corresponds to the number of digits in the combination. A spindle that passes through wheels and a driving cam is connected to the dial in these locks; when the dials revolve, the spindle turns the drive cam.
Third, Biometric safe locks
Another choice you may have seen in the media is security doors or vaults, perhaps not explicitly on a safe. The most frequent scanner you’ll see in these TV series and movies is a fingerprint scanner. However, they occasionally utilize iris scanners or whole hand scanners.
Forth, Handwritten safe locks (Key Locks)
This is usually the default choice that is provided. A manual safe lock, also known as a key lock or a key lock, comes with two keys and is extremely simple.
How a Safe Lock Operates
In contrast to ordinary locks, the safe locks are installed and placed behind the safe’s door, making them challenging to break, drill out, or otherwise damage. The mechanical and electronic locks’ dials and keypads on the door’s surface serve merely as entry points for entering the combination and codes for the safe lock inside.
All combinations and codes are safely stored in the safe lock behind the door, so even if you remove or destroy the lock components outside the safe or replace the keypad with the one for which you are aware of the proper code, the door will still be locked.
Use of a Safe Lock
In most cases, using a safe lock is similar to using a standard lock. However, several distinctions merit highlighting.
You must first unlock the lock to open the safe. Suppose the safety locks are mechanical or electronic combination safe locks. In that case, you can either dial the combination, input the passwords, or insert the key to access the key lock. Pull the door open after the lock has been opened and the lock bolt fully retracted by turning the safe’s handle to the open position. This process is comparable to unlatching a standard door.
