DMT stands for Dimethyltryptamine, it is a tryptamine (means expansion of consciousness that abnormally produces strong experiences of color, smell, sound, taste, and touch) drug that is hallucinogenic and psychedelic that may cause hallucinations and distorted view of objects.
It is a white crystal-like powder derived from certain specific plants such as Psychotria virdis. If it is not in its purest form, it can be in colors of yellow, orange, or pink. Although it is illegal, physicians and researchers are granted access and permission to apply to Health Canada for the usage of psychedelic drugs like DMT in clinical research to provide special access to patients for therapeutic usage.
